Johnny Manahan’s art is on exhibit at the National Gallery Singapore

While he is more popular known for discovering talent and turning them into stars, ABS-CBN’s Johnny Manahan was first and foremost an artist.

But note, he wasn’t just some artist. In 1972, Manahan was a recipient of the prestigious CCP 13 Artist Awardee. Ten years later, he presented at the Paris Biennale.

We tell you also this because his photography and video installation works are currently on exhibit at the National Gallery in Singapore. A Fact Has No Appearance: Art Beyond the Object features works of three Southeast Asian artists in the ‘70s, including Manahan and Reza Piyadasa (Malaysia) and Tan Teng-Kee (Singapore).

“Each artist broke new ground in Southeast Asian modern art, challenging the boundaries of painting, sculpture, photography, video, and performance,” a description for the exhibit posted on the official website of National Gallery Singapore read.

A Fact Has No Appearance: Art Beyond the Object runs until June 19, 2016.
