Actor John Lloyd Cruz admitted to feeling disappointed about his upcoming film, Honor Thy Father not making it to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

In an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com and other reporters on June 25,  John Lloyd admitted, “Sayang kasi naniniwala talaga kami at ‘yung mga tao sa paligid namin. Naniwala talaga kami na mayroong ano, na mayroong naghahanap ng ganitong klaseng pelikula sa ganoong panahon, sa MMFF season.”

But he says he accepts MMFF’s criteria for film entries. “Malayo siguro sa criteria na mayroon ang MMFF, and we totally respect that. Siyempre, hindi naman kami ang committee, sila ang committee so they get to decide.”

Honor The Father’s showing date is still unclear according to John Lloyd. “Honestly, hindi ko alam kasi ang tagal din naming pinagdebatihan kung ipapasok namin sa MMFF.”

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority recently released the official list of films included in the 41st MMFF.

Included in the film entries are Vice Ganda, Coco Martin, Kris Aquino and her former rumoured-boyfriend, Quezon City Mayor and actor Herbert Bautista.
