The fallout from Enrique Gil’s drunken London flight nightmare continues.

While Enrique issued a swift public apology and subsequently plead to stop online bashing, the incident remains in the headlines as Jessy Mendiola’s mom defends her daughter’s name.

In an interview with IC Mendoza for Showbiz Konek na Konek, Didith Garvida revealed her daugther’s struggles as she endured the overly negative reactions from people, especially online.

“Naguguluhan siya. Nasasaktan siya. She’s sad. Masakit sa kanya ‘yung nangyayari. Nalulungkot ako kasi sinasabi niya, ‘Mama, hindi naman kasi ako sikat,’” Didith said.

Enrique reportedly roughed up Jessy along with other Kapamilya stars like Liza Soberano and Luis Manzano onboard a flight to London. Enrique supposedly harrassed Liza first, then turned his attention to Jessy, prompting Luis to step in and try to stop the commotion.

Jessy’s worry is that people won’t believe her because she’s not as popular as the others involved in the ruckus.

“Sabi niya, ‘hindi nila ako paniniwalaan kasi hindi ako sikat na katulad nila,’” Didith recalled. “I always tell her to stay strong because this is life. You have to fight. You know, in life, you have to fight. There are so many out there na mas malakas sa iyo, but hindi naman ibig sabihin na babae ka, hindi ka malakas. Even the whisper of your voice is enough to make you strong, if you are right,” Didith said.

Didith had warned online bashers she would file a case against Enrique if the demoralizing comments continue.

“Do not push me. Ikakasa ko ang pag-file sa idol ninyo kapag di kayo tumigil. Tandaan ninyo ‘yan, huwag ninyo akong galitin,” Didith wrote.
