Kathrina Feigh, a Filipino-American singer, got chair turns from both Jennifer Hudson and Blake Shelton on American singing competition The Voice during Monday’s blind auditions episode.
Last week, Broadway star, Tony Award winner, and The Voice Philippines coach Lea Salonga herself said that Feigh was a contestant to watch out for.
Feigh is a musical theater graduate. Both of her parents are from Manila.
She sang Jessie J’s “Big White Room” for her The Voice audition.
“Your voice is amazing,” Jennifer Hudson, one of the coaches, told Feigh after her performance. “The vibrato that you have, the quality that you have — I couldn’t help but turn my chair around.”
Feigh chose Hudson to be her coach and said that she was a fan of the Oscar-winning singer-actor. Feigh even said that she was able to watch Hudson in the Broadway musical The Color Purple last year.
