You go, girl!
Actress Janella Salvador was tapped to sing the Philippine version of “How Far I’ll Go,” the theme song of the upcomong Disney movie Moana.
This was announced during a press conference held in Singapore on Tue, Nov 8.
Janella, 18, will join four other Southeast Asian singers — Maudy Ayunda from Indonesia, Ayda Jebat from Malaysia, Myra Maneepat Molloy from Thailand, and Minh Nhu from Vietnam — who will also release their versions of the song.
Janella also got to meet Auil’i Cravalho, the American singer and actress who voiced the titular Moana in the movie, during the press conference.

“This is not the first time Disney has tapped Salvador to perform for them. Last year, Salvador was chosen to sing “Happily Ever After” to represent the Filipino community during the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland,” reports ABS-CBN News.
In previous interviews with the press, Janella said she has dreams of becoming a Broadway actress. Her mother, Jenine Desiderio, was part of the West End cast of the musical Miss Saigon.
Congratulations, Janella!
