We’re so used to celebs saying “we’re friends” or them avoiding questions about people they’re romantically linked to, so it’s refreshing how Kapamilya star Jake Cuenca has recently opened about his new GF to ABS-CBN News. He shared with them that he has been going steady with Australian model Chanel Olive Thomas for two months now. Chanel was once in the running to be Australia’s Next Top Model, but is now calls the Philippines her home.
So how did they meet? At a party, through common friends, according to Jake, who adds that she’s already very close to his family. He happily shared that they are good and that he is “sobrang saya.”
“It’s something very different kasi parang ang tagal ko nang hindi nagkaka-non-showbiz na girlfriend. May sarili kaming mundo. I value that. Inaalagaan ko talaga,” Jake said about Chanel, who undeniably looks like Jessy Mendiola (Jake used to court her but nothing happened there). Jake was quick to add that they are very different from each other. “Very different personalities. She’s very different from Jessy,” he said.
