It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis has a positive spirit when it comes to the healthy competition with rival noontime show Eat Bulaga.
Eat Bulaga has been winning the ratings game in Mega Manila lately, thanks to fans who can’t get enough of the Kalye Serye featuring the #AlDub love team, Lola Nidora, her Rogelios, and her twin and her Bernardos.
But Anne is not the least bit worried for It’s Showtime. In fact, she sees it as a great development for TV.
“I think it only goes to show that people are still into noontime shows. So, I think it’s great!” Anne tells PEP.ph.
But the Kapamilya star calls on fans from both sides, especially those on social media, to keep the discussions enthusiastic and constructive.
“I think everyone just needs to take a chill pill,” she says. “There doesn’t have to be any bashing.”
Eat Bulaga‘s ratings are skyrocketing by the week. Remember #AlDub’s first meeting last Saturday? According to GMA Network, that episode, featuring a surprise plywood nearly reached the same ratings level as boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.
The Sep 5 airing even surpassed the number of tweets during the Papal visit last January, clocking in at about 4 million tweets. We’re talking about the Pope here people! The Pope!
On an August Wednesday, after Yaya Dub fell unconscious during the YaKie wedding, Eat Bulaga! ranked even higher than GMA-7’s Lenten presentation. Like, we’re already talking about Jesus here.
