A relative of “Pastillas Girl” Angelica Yap, whose mother Teresa was shot dead by an unknown gunman in Caloocan City on Sunday night, has told police to look into the deceased’s former boyfriends as one of them may be behind the killing.
The tip came from “John” (who was not identifed for safety reasons),” reports Philippine Daily Inquirer.
He said police should invite for questioning a certain “Polo”, as well as Alfamil Yap and his girlfriend “Andrea”. Polo and Yap were former boyfriends of Teresa.
According to the informant, one of her former boyfriends even told the victim, “If you will not be mine, nobody else will have you.” He added that Andrea “sent the victim threatening messages after she found out that [Teresa] used to go out with Alfamil Yap,”
Teresa — also identified as Maria Theresa Hernandez in other reports — was with her daughter Camille and a niece when she was killed. They had just heard Mass and were about to eat at an “ihaw ihaw” on Tagaytay Street in Caloocan City.
She was brought to Chinese General Hospital, where her daughter Angelica Yap was still able to catch her alive. Teresa was declared dead at 12:41am.
