Two Broadway legends gave us immense joy on Twitter earlier this week when Tony Award winners Lea Salonga and Lin-Manuel Miranda (‘Hamilton’, ‘Moana’, ‘In The Heights’) had this hilarious exchange.

It all started when Lin tweeted Lea three years ago.

Lea, busy woman that she is, finally replied on May 16, Tuesday.

Lin, bless his heart, pointed out the obvious:

Lea a.k.a. Eponine/Fantine/Jasmine/Mulan/Kim was embarrassed.

But that’s okay, we all still love her! But apparently not as much as Lin loves his “mamshie”, so of course Pinoy Twitterverse almost exploded.

Lin used to date a Filipina actress, so he picked up a few Tagalog phrases here and there. But where is this newfound fountain of Tagalog slangs coming from?! We love it!

She’s right, you know?

As with all good things, this exchange too must end. So Lin bade Lea goodbye in the most Pinoy way:

We do hope a real Lea-Lin collab will happen soon. Please hear us, oh theater gods… For now, here’s Lin and Lea a.k.a. Princess Jasmine singing “A Whole New World” for ‘Hamilton’ fans outside the theater.
