We don’t know what we’re feeling but something is not right. On Facebook Wednesday afternoon, Side A announced that its long-standing vocalist Joey Generoso has decided to pursue a solo career. Which means, he’ll be leaving the band. Joey is 53 years old.
True to its most famous song, “Tuloy Pa Rin Ako” — which is a cover of a Labuyo original, by the way — the band will continue without Joey. “Side A is abuzz with plans,” the Facebook status update says.
The band hit it big in the 90s covering hits like the aforementioned “Tuloy Pa Rin Ako,” “Africa,” “Foolish Hearts,” “I’ll be Over You” in venues like Music Hall. They released 10 albums, and a few original songs like “Forevermore” and “Only You” were very well received. Wow. That’s news for an entire generation.
Anyway, good luck to the band, and to Joey G. May you find what you’re looking for!
