Many were pleasantly surprised when news came out earlier this year that Rufa Mae Quinto was set to marry Fil-Am boyfriend Trevor Magallanes.
The two were also surprised by the quick turn of events.
In an interview in ABS-CBN’s Tonight with Boy Abunda on Wed, Sep 21, Rufa Mae admitted she was the one who asked Trevor to tie the knot after they had in a relationship for just a month.
“Siya naman (ang nanligaw) pero ako na ang nagpropose,” Rufa Mae joked. (He was the one who courted me, but I was the one who proposed marriage.)
She added: “Ako nagtext na I want a civil wedding.” (I texted him that I want a civil wedding.) Trevor replied with a very simple answer: “When?”
Rufa Mae and Trevor are set to marry in November. They started going out in January.

The actress, who is 17 weeks pregnant, said she is sure her Filipino-American fiancé is “the one.”
“Because everything I say, he understands… Ang nangyari, mabilis na lang lahat kasi walang sobrang explanation na hanggang sobrang pilitin mo na hindi mo pa rin naiintindihan,” Rufa Mae said, adding she had a difficult time communicating with her partner in her previous relationships.
(What happened was, everything was so quick because we didn’t need any explanation, we didn’t need to force anything.)
She added: “Ngayon, may isang taong naintindihan ako sa kahit konti-konti lang sinasabi ko.”
(Now, there’s one person who could understand me even if I only say a few words.)
