Heart Evangelista has a new movie called Trophy Wife, which will premiere this July 30, but she’s not that happy with it. For starters, she’s not really the bida. Directed by Andoy Ranay, the real bida is Cristine Reyes, who is paired here with Derek Ramsay.
Heart shared with Rey Pumaloy of Pep.ph that her role in the movie is simple and not that challenging.
So why did she accept such a simple role for a seemingly big, exciting movie project?
The Kapuso actress says that the movie’s original concept got changed when the original director, Elwood Perez, was replaced. So her role didn’t need to be daring anymore, plus the new director had his own approach, too.
“I want to be grateful na lang,” Heart said about her first movie for Viva, but emphasized that they’ll first really study the materials for her next movies before they accept.
She clarifies, however, that she is not disappointed.
“Parang it wasn’t really a priority kaya medyo na-off ako na nag-drag on siya over a year yung shooting kasi I wasn’t very happy with the movie to begin with, kasi maliit yung role. Pero since past lang naman ang usapan, okay lang sa akin mag-shooting. Masyado kasi ako na-bore sa character ko dito sa movie na ito. Nothing great. Parang more of a special participation lang naman ako sa movie, pero okay lang. I was actually okay with it, yun naman kasi ang ibinigay sa akin ng Viva so I didn’t wanna cause them anything. But it could be better. I’ll just wait for a better role.”
