Gringo says he didn’t hear any boos directed at Binay in Cebu

Does he speak the truth or shall we take this with the proverbial grain of salt?

During the Pandesal Forum at the Kamuning Bakery Cafe on Tue, Jann 19, Senator Gringo Honasan said that there was no booing when his running mate Vice President Jejomar Binay showed up during the formal opening of the Sinulog festival’s grand parade last Sun, Jan 17, in Cebu City.

“I was there. I don’t know if I have defective hearing. Even if you accuse me of being partisan, wala akong (narinig na boo). Hindi ko naman narinig or naramdaman. The reception was quite warm,” Honasan said.

“Honasan’s statement contradicts recent reports claiming that Binay was booed during the ,” reports Marc Jayson Cayabyab on Inquirer.net.

Honasan likewise “denied that the boos compelled Binay to cut short his speech.”
