AlDub’s recording-breaking 12 million tweets last Saturday was bound to reach someone important. And it did.

Byran White, singer of “God Gave Me You,” which is one of the more important songs used on the Kalye Serye, noticed it and he took to Twitter to ask, “What is ALDUB?”

Because, he says, Filipino fans have changed his life. “I just want to say a great big thank you to all my Filipino fans and Asian fans out there. I’m so excited by all that is happening with ‘God Gave Me You.’ It’s crazy, after how many years, it’s become a really big success in your country and I can’t thank you enough for the support and just you, guys, loving the song so much,” Bryan said.

In a video he posted on Facebook, White explained that he released the song 16 years ago, in 1999. “It’s crazy, how many years later, it’s become a really big success in your country, and I can’t thank you enough for the support. I love the song ‘til this day. I just can’t believe how music travels.”

Bryan says he found it amazing that he kept getting messages and requests from the AlDub Nation. He’s even using the hashtag #GGMY or “God Gave Me You” along with designated AlDub hashtags in some of his tweets, boosting the AlDub numbers even more.

Apart from learning and joining in on some of the jokes and tropes of the Kalyeserye on Twitter, Bryan said they are now working on a Philippine tour.

Now here’s a plus: Bryan’s representatives on Twitter said they are going to make an Eat Bulaga! appearance happen. Awoo!

In the meantime, we made an #Aldub #KiligPaMore playlist on Spotify. You should totally follow it now.
