Gabby Concepcion on infidelity: ‘Partners must be territorial to protect what’s rightfully theirs’

In a recent interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal, actor Gabby Concepcion was asked series of questions.

Concepcion’s latest TV gig is via the GMA afternoon drama Ika-6 na Utos (The Sixth Commandment). The TV show’s title is a reference to the 10 Commandments in the Bible. No. 6 is “Thou shalt not commit adultery.”

In relation to the show, Carvajal asked Concepcion questions about relationships. Her first query was “What are your thoughts on infidelity?”

Concepcion replied, “Infidelity makes a dent in a relationship. Boundaries must be drawn, so the relationship will be solid. Partners must be territorial to protect what’s rightfully theirs.”

Carvajal then went on to ask him, “What makes husbands stray?” To which Concepcion answered, “A series of events that creates the kind of environment that would make husbands look elsewhere. Lack of spark. Communication breakdown.”

Concepcion used to be married to movie star Sharon Cuneta (their daughter is KC Concepcion) and former model Jenny Syquia (their daughter is Cloie Syquia Skarne, who was legally adopted by Syquia’s Swedish husband). Concepcion also has a daughter (Garie Concepcion) with former partner Grace Ibuna.

In 2004, Concepcion married his wife, Genevieve Yatco Gonzales. They have two daughters.
