Dedicating a birthday greeting to your S.O. (significant other) and posting it online usually gets a lot of “love” reacts but fans of actor Gabby Concepcion are liking his latest “Happy Birthday” message for another reason.
Yesterday, Concepcion greeted his ex-wife and former love team partner Sharon Cuneta through two photos on Instagram.
One is a screenshot of Cuneta’s Instagram feed with the caption “Happy Birthday. @reallysharoncuneta @itskcconcepcion #goodvibes #happybirthday.”
The other one is a photo of Cuneta that says “Happy Birthday…safe from all the storms…@reallysharoncuneta @itskcconcepcion.”
And because Filipino love team fans are very dedicated, they went crazy for the posts.
Many are still holding out for a movie that would reunite the two since their last film Tayong Dalawa (Us Two) from 1992.
One fan said that if the two were to star in a movie today, it would be as big of a hit as films of current love teams.
Instagram user belle7jewel even said that they are still her all-time favorite love team.
While another poster cannot seem to get over that the two aren’t together anymore more than 30 years after they separated.
Concepcion and Cuneta were two of the most popular actors in local show business in the 1980s. They started out as on-screen partners but ended up getting married in 1984. They have one daughter, actress KC Concepcion.
Today, Cuneta is married to Senator Francis Pangilinan, who she has three children with. She recently appeared as a judge for ABS-CBN’s talent shows Your Face Sounds Familiar and The Voice Kids and The Voice Teens. In 2017, she starred in the romantic comedy Unexpectedly Yours with Robin Padilla, another former love team partner.
Concepcion is now married to Genevieve Yatco Gonzales, his third wife who he has two daughters with. He currently stars in GMA Network’s afternoon teleserye (television series) Ika-6 na Utos (The 6th Commandment).
