Sick of all the hate he’s been getting after saying he “cannot support the morality of” Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Gab Valenciano wrote a lengthy note on Facebook asking, “What the hell happened?”
“I would love to indulge in constructive arguments with people and go head-to-head on this issue, instead of how ugly I am, how I’m using this issue to boost my popularity, how I’m just desperately looking for attention because I don’t have a career anymore,” the 27-year-old son of Gary V wrote about the below-the-belt comments he’s been getting.
While he did mention there were a handful of valid points thrown his way, Gab says “it’s scary seeing where Filipinos stand culturally, socially, spiritually, and mentally.”
He continues: “What happened. What the heck happened. It’s deeper than just haters. It’s deeper than just trolls. These are actual people. The country is known to have a very shallow social media presence but what about disgraceful, distasteful, uneducated, disrespectful and ignorant?”
Gab says he isn’t backing down nor apologizing for his stand. “I stood up and spoke out for what I believe in…come at me with your garbage and I will retaliate with my education.”
