When a man who qualifies for senior citizen benefits reveals he’s in love with a 16-year-old girl, people are bound to talk.
That’s exactly what happened after music icon Freddie Aguilar revealed that his current girlfriend is 44 years his junior.
Aguilar, who, ironically, gained fame for singing songs like “Anak,” says the girl’s parents seem to approve of their relationship.
“Aguilar made the revelation on Sunday, October 13, after he won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Star Awards for Music held at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City,” reports Glenn Regondola on PEP.ph.
For the record, Aguilar claimed he didn’t know that the girl was young enough to be his daughter (granddaughter, even) when he started courting her. However, when he found out, he said he could no longer quit pursuing her because he was already hopelessly in love with her.
