Pop star and former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Bailey May is now a part of the global pop group Now United, a pop group formed by Simon Fuller, who created long-running US singing competition American Idol.

The confirmation was made on Thursday via Now United’s Instagram account.

According to its Instagram account, Now United is “a new interactive pop group for new generation” composed of “incredible young performers from all over the world.”

The group has 14 members from around the world.

The other 10 performers who are part of the 14-member group are Lamar from United Kingdom, Josh from Canada, Shivani from India, Heyoon from South Korea, Any from Brazil, Hina from Japan, Noah from USA, Diarra from Senegal, Joalin from Finland and Sofya from Russia.

May is half-British and first became popular through social media for his cover of English and Tagalog pop songs.

“He stood out because he’s got everything that you could ever dream of in a star,” said Yonta Taiwo, who was one of those in charge of scouting members for Now United, as she spoke for Fuller during an interview with ABS-CBN News.

She added, “He has an amazing kind heart, beautiful looks, and charismatic values. He can also sing and dance. And when we saw him, Simon just knew that he was the one.”

She also described the former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate as the “perfect ambassador” for the country, and him being half-British adds to his “global presence” that “speaks to a broader audience.”

“We got lucky when we found him,” she said.
