Those who missed Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral (The Boy General) in theaters earlier this year can look forward to 2019 as this year’s biggest movie will be made available on streaming platform Netflix come January.

This was announced by Netflix today, according to multiple reports. According to GMA News, Goyo will drop on Jan. 26, 2019.

A historical drama directed by Jerold Tarog, Goyo tells the story of Filipino hero Gregorio del Pilar who fought in the Philippine-American War. However, the film does not focus on his heroism but on his disillusionment with the government.

It is reportedly the most expensive Filipino film to be made and was generally liked by critics.

Goyo is a sequel to the 2015 sleeper hit Heneral Luna, which was made available on Netflix in November.

Fans can’t wait to watch Goyo again and shared their excitement online.

@Aleyniiiiii said she wants a Netflix account just to watch the film.

“I want [a Netflix] acc just to watch Goyo, hey I’m begging all of you,” she said.

While @lgtayag plans to just leech off friends who are already subscribed to the platform. “[I’m] gonna need to be a parasite on someone’s [Netflix] acc when [Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral] would be available for streaming,” she wrote.

But she quickly took this back and said: “or not, depending if [I] get that [DVD].”
