Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy is coming back to the country to perform in Manila and Cebu City early next year, his local promoter MMI Live announced today on Facebook.

Known for poking fun at Filipino culture — particularly at the (friendly) expense of his Filipina mother — Jo Koy will perform in Cebu on Jan. 14, 2020 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino. A day after that, he will be doing his stand-up routine at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Jan. 15.

The price of admission into his Cebu City show starts at PHP2,000 (US$38), with the most expensive tier fetching PHP6,500 (US$124) per ticket.

Meanwhile, the cheapest ticket to his Manila show is PHP1,750 (US$33) and the most expensive one is priced at PHP7,500 (US$143). Tickets will be available for purchase starting on Sept. 27, through the SM ticketing website.

Jo Koy, real name Joseph Glenn Hubert, began pursuing a career in stand-up comedy after receiving encouragement from his mother, Josie. Over the years, he has appeared on television shows Chelsea Lately, The Tonight Show on Jay Leno, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

He became famous in the Philippines when his first Netflix special Jo Koy: Live from Seattle came out in 2017, in which one of his most memorable jokes included his mom’s penchant for using Vicks Vaporub to cure all ailments imaginable.
