Filipino action thriller Buy Bust, directed by Erik Matti, will be released in the United States after it sold distribution rights to US-based company Well Go USA, The Hollywood Reporter wrote.
Matti directed the 2013 film On the Job, which received a standing ovation at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, and the 2015 film Honor Thy Father, which was screened at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
Buy Bust is his latest action film starring Anne Curtis who plays a female drug enforcement agent part of a group of agents that find themselves hunted by a drug syndicate after being trapped inside a drug den.
The first full trailer shows plenty of the action-packed, bullet-filled moments that were first teased in a behind-the-scenes video that claimed the movie used over 250,000 grams of gunpowder throughout the 50 days of filming.
Starring alongside Curtis are MMA champion Brandon Vera and Filipino actors Victor Neri, Nonie Buencamino, and Joross Gamboa.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will have a limited release in the US later his year, followed by a video release.
The film is set to be released in the Philippines on Feb. 28.
