Now that’s cool.

Her screen name is Marya Christen, or Marya Coburn IRL. At present, she is a 70-year-old Filipina actress based in New Jersey who, according to this Positively Filipino story which was recently picked up by Inquirer.net, is slowly working her way out of retirement.

“Once in show business, always in show business,” she was quoted as saying in the article written by Imelda Oppenheim.

Her credentials is as showbiz as showbiz could get. She is a singer and a dancer and an actress whose work includes appearances in Broadway, on mainstream American television shows, working with the likes of Frank Sinatra, John Voight, Bob Foss and Elvis Presley, the last she even kissed.

Uh huh, she kissed The King, in 1967, at the ripe age of 22, for the movie Stay Away Joe. Marya played the role of Elvis’ love interest in the movie.

She was so nervous about it that decided to do something that would help her prepare for such a task. “I sprayed my mouth with Binaca,” Marya narrates.

She continues: “When it was time to do the scene, Elvis took my hand and asked, ‘Are you ready?’ I said, ‘yes’ so he kissed me, but I must’ve used too much mouth spray because he threw his head back and screamed out, ‘This girl swallowed some disinfectant!’

Lol. She says, it took them 8 takes to get the perfect shot.
