Korina Sanchez’s show “Rated K” featured some interesting and unique houses in the Philippines last Sunday.
First is the castle house of Rosalyn Tai, who shared that she had always wanted to be a queen. Now it’s kind of true because of her castle-like home in San Alfonso, Cavite. It welcomes guests with a sword set in stone (how King Arthur, we know), has a 20-foot tall door, and boasts of luxurious interiors: gold-plated furniture, a staircase lined with red carpet, and a dining room with stones and a traditional emblem.
The second house featured on the show is the bamboo house of Carolina Jimenez in Antipolo City. Using a budget of P500,000, the kawayan house was built in just two months. Obviously, it is made of bamboo, from the roof to the ground. Even the furniture is made of bamboo, plus it has a garden filled with – what else – bamboo plants.
Lastly, there is the “planet house” in Araneta Avenue, Quezon City, owned by couple Artemio and Mercedes Reyes. It is called the “planet house” because it resembles a celestial body. Other stuff inside the house share the futuristic theme. Each of the four rooms has a bed that is shaped like a plate, and the there is also a spiral staircase, which was very futuristic back when the house was built in 1965.
