Fans cry ‘sabotage’ after AlDub movie screenings encounter ‘technical problem’

AlDub Nation — the fans club of popular love team Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza — took to social media on Wed, Jul 13, to complain about an alleged “technical problem” that prevented some cinemas from screening Imagine You and Me.

Imagine You and Me is Alden and Maine’s first solo movie that opened in theaters today.

Some fans even asked if the “technical problem” was a “sabotage.”

But Imagine You and Me director Michael Tuviera explained that the “technical problem” in some of the screenings is not the cinema’s fault.

He also asked fans not to watch Imagine You and Me illegally.

Showbiz pundits expect Imagine You and Me to earn big bucks in the box office.

Philippine Star entertainment editor Ricky Lo even wrote on his Funfare column today that APT Entertainment, GMA Films and M-ZET Production (the producers of the movie) are “rumored to be aiming for a P1 billion total gross.”

That’s almost double than what the 2015 movie A Second Chance — reportedly the highest grossing Filipino movie of all time — made in the box office!

Imagine You and Me is facing one other nationwide release in the theaters this week: the Enrique Gil-starrer Dukot, directed by Paul Soriano.

Imagine You and Me tells the story of Gara (Maine) and Andrew (Alden) as they cross paths and fall in love in Italy. It also stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Cai Cortez, Cacai Bautista, and Irma Adlawan, among others.

Let the box office battle begin!
