Erap dubs TVK finalist as ‘Esang ng Tondo’, a callback to FPJ

The Voice Kids Season 2 finalist Telesa Marie de Torres was only supposed to visit the Manila City Hall for a courtesy call to Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada.

Aside from rubbing elbows with Erap, Telesa, more popularly known as Esang, was given what could be the best monicker for anyone with her name.

Erap dubbed her “Esang ng Tondo”, a callback to the film Eseng ng Tondo which starred Fernando Poe Jr., one of his bestfriends.

For those too young to remember, the nickname is like the local version of “Jenny from the Block”.

Anyway, the “mini-me” of Lea Salonga, who really does live in Tondo, also sang a spontaneus serenade for Erap.

Esang, one of the crowd favorites during the TVK talent show, sang “Isang Mundo, Isang Awit” for Erap, earning applause from the small audience.
