Well, this is new.
During his interview on ABS-CBN’s late night talk show Tonight with Boy Abunda on Tue, Jul 12, Enrique Gil said he and onscreen partner Liza Soberano are “boyfriend and girlfriend.”
Except, not really.
Enrique, 24, said it’s not their official status. They just treat each other like they’re in a relationship.
“Well, para sa akin, we treat each other like boyfriend and girlfriend. So, yeah, we’re boyfriend and girlfriend,” he said.
The actor said he is waiting for the blessing of Liza’s parents before taking their relationship to the next level.
Liza turned 18 last January.
“Her parents never really said na, ‘Okay. Pwede na kayong maging boyfriend girlfriend.’ Walang ganoon. Pero we treat each other like we really are talaga so parang ganoon na rin’.”
(Her parents never really said, Ókay, you can be in a relationship.’ Nothing like that. But we treat each other like we really are (in a relationship) so it’s almost like we are in a relationship.)
Okay.
But turning serious, Enrique said Liza “balances” him, “more than the previous girls that my mom has met.”
“People say that it’s good to have similarities with your loved one, pero it’s also good to have somebody that balances you and makes you a better version of yourself. That’s what she is,” he added.
