His apology came fast.
On Friday evening via TV Patrol, Enrique Gil issued a public apology for his drunken behavior aboard a flight to London for the ASAP 20 show.
“I had some drinks in the plane. I mean more than what I should be having. As a result, things got out of hand,” Enrique, who was with Liza Soberano, said.
After apologizing to his “brothers and sisters from Star Magic,” Enrique singled out Jessy Mendiola and her boyfriend JM de Guzman.
“I sincerely apologize to Jessy, to JM, if ever I offended them in any way. I’m sorry. Yun lang po.”
He gave the universal reason that people give when they commit mistakes: “Tao lang, nagkakamali.”
As an added measure, the 23-year-old actor followed it with, “you own up to it, you learn from it, and move forward. This is the first and the last time this will ever happen.”
He then thanked his fans for their unwavering support, and assured them that all is fine between him and Liza.
Late Thursday, his alleged drunken behavior on the flight was reported. He was said to be first harrassing Liza Soberano, who was seated beside him. When the young lady got up, Enrique turned his attention to Jessy Mendiola who was seated across him. When he started touching Jessy, Luis Manzano reportedly stepped in. That’s when Enrique started shouting, calling the attention of others on board the flight.
