The Manila City government, led by Mayor Alfredo Lim, unveiled the monument of the late Comedy King Dolphy at the Museo Pambata along Roxas Boulevard on Tuesday.
Dolphy’s family and children Dolphy, Jr., Eric, Epy, Nicole, and Vandolph, attended the unveiling of the statue created by sculptor Jonas Roces. The 300 kilogram statue shows a smiling Dolphy with his right forefinger pointing upward.
Rodolfo Vera Perez was born from a poor family in Tondo, Manila. He was respected and loved not only for his acting skills, but for being an inspiration to all.
The monument was placed at the Museo Pambata because this is one of the beneficiaries of Dolphy’s RVQ Foundation, the Manila Bulletin reported.
