If you caught “The Voice of the Philippines” last Saturday, June 22, then you must have been bowled over by Lee Grane, the 29-year old professional singer from Makati. For the Blind Auditions, she did her very own version of the classic Freddy Aguilar hit song “Anak,” which made coaches Bamboo and Sarah Geronimo turn their chairs.
Before choosing her coach, Lea Salonga asked if Lee could sing in English. She performed Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel,” which kinda made Apl.de.ap and Lea regret not turning their chairs earlier. Bamboo also got a little teary-eyed. Drama king! Good thing Lee eventually chose him to be her coach.
Did Lee make you cry?
Well, Lee should should be crying tears of joy because her name trended on Twitter — worldwide. Odiba. “Bamboo” and “#TheVoicePHBlinds” also trended on Twitter that night.
We’ll see if this early favorite will end up as The Voice of the Philippines.
