Tourists making a pit stop in Metro Manila who wish to explore the city but are daunted by the metro’s dire public transportation system may have a solution after the Department of Tourism (DOT) launched the country’s first “Hop On, Hop Off” (HOHO) sightseeing tour in Makati City.
Makati City mayor Abby Binay announced that the city was chosen as the pilot site for the HOHO bus tour as part of the government’s recovery program, allowing tourists to easily explore certain strategic hubs through a modern bus system.
The bus tours, operating from Wednesday to Friday, will take passengers to the city’s heritage sites, museums, and lifestyle centers.
Stops include Makati City landmarks such as Glorietta 2, Washington SyCip Park, RCBC Plaza, Circuit Makati, Century City, Museo ng Makati, Rockwell Center, and Ayala Triangle.
Travelers can book tours through a mobile app.
The DOT also offers a one-day pass at PHP990 (US$17.54), providing travelers with unlimited access to HOHO bus stops throughout the day.
The agency said they were planning to roll out the HOHO bus tour to other cities in Metro Manila, including Manila, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, Pasay and Parañaque, and Ortigas in Pasig City.
