Deniece Cornejo, who cried comedian Vhong Navarro raped her, is set to be detained at Camp Bagong Diwa, after her petition to stay in Camp Crame was denied by a Taguig court.
Ferdinand Topacio, the Cornejo family lawyer, explained in an interview with Aquino & Abunda Tonight that Deniece there is a “danger to her life” at Camp Bagong Diwa. “Syempre, si Mr. Vhong Navarro, may mga fans po yan. Baka po sya mabuweltuhan,” said Topacio.
He continued, “Ito naman po ay detention prisoner lamang. Sya po ay nakakulong hindi bilang parusa, ngunit dahil wala pa po syang pinapayagang bail at sya po ay nililitis. Hindi pa po kaparusahan to. Hindi pa sya nako-convict.”
According to ABS-CBN News, the attorney also clarified that Deniece is not getting any special treatment in Camp Crame. In fact, Deniece is at the wrong end of the aircon so she feels the hot air, not the cool one. He also shared that the other side of her cell is the kitchen so it’s really hot there.
