Photographer Charles Buenconsejo’s mind-blowing interpretation of a building construction, artist Leslie de Chavez’s acerbic commentary on colonization and Jeona Zoleta’s damsel in distress figures have earned these artists the top prizes at the 2014 Ateneo Art Awards, held on Aug 15 at Shangi-La Plaza. The first-ever Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prize for Art Criticism went to Carlomar Daoana.
Selected works are on exhibit at Shangri-La Plaza’s East Wing.
