Award-winning music producer David Foster was beaming during the performances of singing sensation Charice Pempengco during his one-night-only concert here in the Philippines.
“Anywhere I go, no matter what part of the world I’m in, someone comes up to me and says ‘Thank you for bringing this young lady to the world’. She was destined for greatness with or without me,” David said.
In one segment of the show, David asked the audience what they wanted to hear from Charice and decided on Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You.
He even reminded Charice, “You don’t have to go big, we are done with the big. You’ve hit the highest note on the planet. I don’t want to hear any high notes.”
Charice then performed a chill-inducing rendition of the hit song during the concert, which is also considered a reunion with her real-life godfather.
The 23-year-old Charice also sang Chaka Khan’s Through the Fire to the delight of the audience.
Charice also took on the Filipino song, Bukas na Lang Kita Mamahalin.
The show also featured Natalie Cole, Ruben Studdard, Boyz II Men and other Filipino talents, like Mark Mabasa and Asia’s Got Talent runner-up, Gerphil Flores.
