A lot of viewers easily figured it out when GMA Network started showing two letter M’s in a teaser for a new TV series. That only meant one thing: Marimar.
It was in 2007 when newcomer Marian Rivera portrayed Marimar in the local adaptation of Thalia’s Mexican hit soap. Things got crazy good for the actress after that.
This year, 2013 Miss World Megan Young will be playing the iconic role, now that she is once again with the Kapuso network. Tom Rodriguez will play her love interest, Sergio Santibañez (portrayed by Dingdong dantes in the first local adaptation).
As early as now, a lot of people are doubting Megan’s acting skills. Some people are also questioning the network’s decision to remake an adaptation.
