Why is Liza Soberano wearing the now-iconic blue dress and crown of Miss Universe 2016 Pia Wurtzbach?
Fans of the Kapamilya Teen Queen Liza Soberano gushed over the picture of the 19-year-old actress wearing a gown similar to what Pia Wurtzbach wore on the coronation night of the 2015 Miss Universe pageant. Liza had a crown on her head, too.
The photo was uploaded on the official Facebook page of Dolce Amore, the ABS-CBN show starring Liza and her onscreen partner Enrique Gil.
“#lizasoberano to play as #PiaWurtzbach on MMK this June,” said the caption.
Liza’s talent manager Ogie Diaz confirmed the news on Tuesday.
“She’s taping for ‘MMK’ as the young Pia Wurtzbach,” Diaz said in a report by ABS-CBN News
Veteran actress ZsaZsa Padilla said that she will be joining Liza on the episode of ABS-CBN’s long-running drama anthology, Maalala Mo Kaya (MMK).
Liza’s fans are already excited.
“YAS! Can’t wait to watch this one,” posted a netizen on the comments section.
Last year, Pia said that Liza would totally rock the Miss Universe pageant.

Pia’s mentor famed beauty pageant trainer Jonas Gaffud agreed.
“She has what it takes to be a Miss Universe,” Gaffud said.

Liza already said that she had no intention of joining the pageant.
“To be honest, (I have no plans) on being Miss Universe but I’m not closing any doors. (But) it’s an honor to be complimented by Miss Universe herself,” Liza said.
Let’s see if Liza will change her mind after playing Pia in this show.
