TV5 has a new show premiering very soon and it’s called Trenderas. And we have to admit we’re pretty intrigued.
For starters, it stars Nora Aunor.
Second, Edwin Sallan of Interaksyon describes it as Glee meets Bituing Walang Ningning.
Third, it also stars a trio of new (new-ish) talents, which is always exciting, right? In fact, although Nora topbills the show, it focuses more on the Trenderas, three tindera friends who get close to their dream of making it big in the biz when their video gets viral.
Playing these Trenderas are three fresh-faced girls.
First is 22-year old Lara Maigue, who used to be with the group Opera Belles. She is also known to be a composer; she’s the one responsible for the PhilPop hit “Sa’yo na Lang Ako” by Karylle.
Second is Katrina Velarde, the 19-year old YouTube sensation best known for her Suklay Diva covers. You might also remember her for being part of The X Factor Philippines, as a member of the girl group AKA Jam.
Last is Isabelle de Leon, who is the most recognizable among the three. She’s that Duday girl of Vic Sotto from the hit sitcom Da De Di Do Du; she also reinvented herself lately – she is now a singer-songwriter, as in complete with guitar. Anyway, the 19-year-old is back into acting, and she’s just happy that she gets to sing and not just act in this show.
Joining the Superstar and the three girls are Dingdong Avanzado, Carl Guevarra, Edward Mendez, Arnel Ignacio, Cacai Bautista, K Brosas, Kitkat, Francine Prieto, and Leo Martinez.
No date of airing yet, but we’re very open to checking it out.
