Didn’t catch coming-of-age flick Edward or erotic thriller Adan when they screened in local film festivals last year? Well, now you can remedy that error without even leaving the house because starting this month, you can stream both films on iFlix — for free.
Yep, no sign-up or subscription fee needed. Edward has already been added to the Philippine streaming site’s watch-for-free roster, while Adan will be free to stream starting on March 27.
Need a quick brush-up on the plots before committing a few hours to these flicks? Check out the trailers and some short synopses below.
Edward by Thop Nazareno

Cast: Louise Abuel, Elijah Canlas, Ella Cruz
Edward follows a teenage boy who’s practically living in a public hospital while caring for his ailing father. He finds an unlikely friend in a girl (wink, wink) who happens to be a patient in the hospital. They dabble in vices and cutesy-morbid games like guessing how long a patient in the ward is going to live. The Thop Nazareno-directed film also offers a glimpse into the Philippine healthcare system, and deals with humans slowly coming to terms with the shortness of life.
If it’s anything to go on, the flick also bagged awards at the Cinemalaya 2019 film festival, including Best Supporting Actress for Ella Cruz and a Jury Award in the full-length film category.
Adan by Yam Laranas

Cast: Rhen Escaño, Cindy Miranda, Bembol Roco
Adan follows in the erotic thriller footsteps of the likes of Fatal Attraction and Basic Instinct — with a healthy dash of Thelma and Louise — except Adan is set in the rural Philippines and follows a pretty young girl (in floral, off-shoulder dresses) who is locked away from the world by her physically abusive father.
In a bid to run away, the pretty protagonist, along with her equally pretty friend take some desperate measures, have an apparent sexual awakening, and do a fair bit of sweating and heavy breathing in the process.
