Comedian Pokwang may be absent from television, but she hasn’t lost her touch. An Instagram video posted on Monday showing her nose bleeding after reading an English language book shows she still has the comedic chops.

In case you’re unaware, Filipinos who have a rudimentary grasp of English often joke that their nose is “bleeding.” Looks like Pokwang is not an exception.

The book that Pokwang (Marietta Subong in real life) is reading is titled 5-Minute Stories. In the video, Pokwang tries to read the book to her 7-month-old daughter Malia, but she finds it hard to pronounce some of the words.

By the time it ends, Pokwang looks at the camera with blood dripping out her nose. Kind of disgusting, yet amusing at the same time.

Her fans think the video, which has been viewed more than 264,000 times, is a hoot.

Another fan named @jechchej laughed and said: “So that’s why baby Malia is staring at you. Your nose was bleeding. Ahahahaha.”

Pokwang became the subject of controversy last month after netizens slammed her for reposting a fake racist tweet that was allegedly posted by one of the Australian players who took part in the infamous “basketbrawl” against the Philippine national team. ABS-CBN reported that the tweet is a hoax.
