Netizens are criticizing television host Joey de Leon after he made lewd comments directed at two women on his noontime show Eat Bulaga! yesterday.
De Leon made the remarks during the program’s “Bawal Judgemental” (“You Can’t Be Judgemental”) contest, where beauty queen and flight attendant Danna Rose Socaoco was a judge. After introducing Socaoco and asking about her work, de Leon told her in Filipino,”You know, you have really nice legs… I hope to ride you one day.”

The host did not stop there though. In the same segment, he asked actress and contestant Sanya Lopez, who was holding a puppy, “How many times have you been bitten by a man?”

Many comments on Twitter were highly critical of de Leon, with @dpressingtruths saying, “In this episode of some men are trash, Joey de Leon said ‘I want to ride you’ to a flight attendant on national tv. It’s 2020, stop these lame & double meaning jokes.”

De Leon has a history of making controversial statements. In October 2017, he said depression was a made-up illness and that those suffering from it brought it upon themselves. The backlash was severe and swift, which spurred him to make a public apology.
As of writing, the comedian has not apologized for his latest public blunder.
