Do we need more proof that the Philippines is a powerhouse in the beauty pageant circuit?
Cloie Syquia Skarna, daughter of Gabby Concepcion and model Jenny Syquia, was named Miss Earth Sweden 2016 in the Miss Universe Sweden pageant at the Caf Opera in Stockholm, Sweden on Mon, Aug 29.
She was a runner-up to Ida Ovmar, who clinched the Miss Universe Sweden title.

This means Cloie will compete against Philippine bet Imelda Schweighart for the Miss Earth 2016 crown.
The Philippines has been the reigning Miss Earth title holder for two consecutive years.
“I’m MISS EARTH SWEDEN 2016! Thank you to those who have supported me and believed in me. I would not have been who I am today without you,” she wrote on Instagram.
Her half-sister KC Concepcion took to social media to congratulate Cloie for her win.
“You’ve reached another milestone! 2016 has been good to you. After all the sleepless nights, uncertainty, beauty pageant lessons & yes, diet shakes… You did it!!! My sis is going to join MISS EARTH 2016, representing Sweden,” KC wrote in an Instagram post.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol earlier this month, Cloie said she had no training and background in beauty pageants before joining Miss Universe Sweden. She went to the Philippines earlier this month to train with Aces & Queens, the pageant camp that trained Pia Wurtzbach.
She also said becoming a beauty queen is her childhood dream.
“I’ve been thinking about it for a few years, actually. But then, this year, I felt I was ready and I wanted to pursue my dream,” she said.
