While people are still rallying for that Aga Muhlach and Lea Salonga reunion movie, another Gen X love team has confirmed that they’re going to work on a new project together. Yesterday, actor Mark Anthony Fernandez said that he will reunite with 90s icon Claudine Barretto, ABS-CBN News reported.
In case anyone forgot, before Barretto paired up with the late actor Rico Yan, she was first Fernandez’s on-screen and off-screen love interest. Remember the movie Pare Ko? Ultimate 90s flashback.
Fernandez announced the news when he officially signed on to be part of Viva Artists Agency yesterday.
“Watch out for the project I’ll be working on,” he said. “I promise, I will make sure your time and your money will be worthwhile.”
Sadly, he did not really give details about what they’re working on.
Barretto, a Viva talent, had welcomed Fernandez to the agency earlier this month.
Barretto also defended Fernandez after fans criticized him for being arrested for drug possession.
“Lets all give people 2nd chances. Mark did not wrong any of you who want to put him down. He never hurt anyone of u but himself,” she said in mixed Filipino and English.
In October 2016, Fernandez was arrested in the province of Pampanga for possessing a kilo of marijuana. The police had to chase him down and eventually shot the tire of his car to catch him. He also underwent rehab in 2004. He was released from jail right before Christmas last year.
