A photo of a page from a Spanish children’s book featuring Ferdinand Marcos along with other dictators such as Romania’s Nicolae Ceaușescu and Cambodia’s Pol Pot went viral last year.

Read: Damn right! Ferdinand Marcos in Spanish children’s book about dictators

On Independence Day, Adarna Publications launched “Ito ang Diktatorya,” the Filipino version of the award-winning non-fiction Asi es la Dictadura (So This is Dictatorship.)

The book features 24 dictators drawn as cute kid-frendly caricatures.

“We believe it is an important book to bring here,” Asa Almario Montenejo, the VP for Operations of Adarna House said in a report by GMA News online. “So we don’t forget our past.”

Written by Equipo Plantel and illustrated by Mikel Casal, Asi es la Dictadura won the 2016 Bologna Ragazzi Award in the non-fiction category at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which, we just found out, is considered the “Oscars of children’s books.”

The book is available for only PHP149 (About USD3).
