It’s sakura season in Japan, but there’s no need to fly to the Land of the Rising Sun to enjoy this gorgeous pink-and-white wonder.
Just head to barangay Cabagnaan in La Castellana, Negros Occidental, where Palawan cherry blossoms are blooming right at the foot of the Kanloan volcano.
According to residents of the town, the flowers start to appear in February and remain visible for about two months.
“The mayor of La Castellana, Negros Occidental has already requested the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to study the trees and how to propagate it,” reports Choose Philippines.
