Guys, don’t be creeps, especially not on social media.

Filipino actress Sunshine Cruz, who was popular for her roles in 90s movies and TV shows, posted on her Instagram account yesterday to inform netizens that a chef who allegedly sent her lewd messages via her DMs has been fired from his job.

The post that Cruz shared was a message from Epilogue PH, a Japanese-European bistro where the erring chef, identified as Lorence Anthony Guardian, used to work. The restaurant is located at the Conrad Manila hotel.

“We just finished the meeting between our manager and the agency and Lorence Guardian admitted that he was the one who sent the messages,” the restaurant’s message to the actress reads. “On our end, we have formalized all the termination documents and he is completely out of Epilogue. Lorence also promised to make an apology.”

Hours before Cruz shared the message from Epilogue, she had shared a screenshot of an Instagram message from Guardian in which he wrote that he was fantasizing about her daughter and would masturbate to thoughts of Cruz.

Cruz wasted no time in going public, posting a photo of Guardian on her account and telling him in Filipino: “Don’t say indecent things to my children; they are minors. Even if they don’t have a father who will protect them, I will protect my children, especially because they’re not doing anything wrong to anyone. Remember that, Lorence Anthony Diola Guardian.”

Yikes. And no, he’s not denying any of this. Guardian posted an apology on his own Instagram account yesterday.

“I am Lorence Anthony D. Guardian and I would like to apologize regarding the issue involving Conrad Hotel Manila, Epilogue PH, and Ms. Sunshine Cruz and her daughter,” it begins.

“First of all, I am not a direct employee of Conrad Hotel Manila and Epilogue PH, I am employed under a local manpower agency. I would like to apologize on (sic) the events that had happened last Jan. 13, 2019 and Feb. 12, 20119.

“To Miss Sunshine Cruz and her daughter, I am very sorry on (sic) what happened and what I have said through Instagram.”

Guardian posted the same apology on his Facebook account.

Netizens have been supportive of Cruz. Commenting on the message sent by Epilogue and reposted by the actress, someone wrote that the termination should serve as a lesson to Guardian.

Another netizen said Guardian’s indecent behavior should not be allowed on social media or anywhere else.

Another said that the “world has no place for perverts” who prey on girls.

The majority of comments on Guardian’s public apology post have, predictably, been harsh. One netizen told him to say good-bye to his career.
