Catriona Gray’s mentor tells PH after Miss World loss: ‘Be a sport’

We’re sure some of you are bummed over the loss of Catriona Gray at the recently-concluded Miss World pageant.

In fact, Catriona became a Philippine trending topic on social media right after the pageant, with some netizens saying she deserves the crown more than the winner, Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico.

You know who isn’t bitter over the results? Jonas Gaffud, renowned beauty queen mentor and trainer of Catriona and other beauty queens such as Pia Wurtzbach, Megan Young, and Kylie Verzosa.

In an Instagram post on Mon, Dec 19, Jonas asked fans to be proud of Catriona rather than spread hate on social media.

He said: “If we won, no hatred on social media right? But we did not. Let’s be proud as Filipinos and pageant fans of our girl Catriona Gray.”

“For us she will be always our Miss World. But there are other families, friends and fans who root for their girls as well,” Jonas added.

Tough, indeed. Catriona is the first Pinay to land in the Miss World top five since Megan Young won the pageant crown in 2013.

Let’s be proud of Catriona!
