Congrats to the brilliant Brillante Mendoza, whose film Taklub is competing in the Cannes Film Fest this year.
A story about the victims of supertyphoon Yolanda, Taklub was chosen to compete in the Un Certain Regard section of the film festival. It is up against 18 other movies. Originally, only 14 were competing but five others were added, including Taklub. Other stars included in the movie are Lou Veloso, and Julio Diaz, who plays Nora’s husband.
Nrillante and Nora already got to work together, back in 2012 for the movie Thy Womb. Brillante also already won at the Cannes, back in 2009, for directing Kinatay.
Let’s see if he can win again this year.
