Brillante Mendoza film makes it to Cannes Film Festival

Brillante Mendoza’s film Ma’ Rosa is part of the main competition section of the upcoming 69th Cannes Film Festival.

The film stars Jaclyn Jose, Andi Eigenmann, Felix Roco, Jomari Angeles, and Julio Diaz.
 

Mendoza is among the 20 filmmakers from 28 countries who will compete for prestigious Palme d’Or, the highest prize awarded at the prestigious film festival. 

The film festival is form May 11 to 22.

This isn’t Mendoza’s first time to compete in Cannes, considered as one of the most prestigious film festival in the world, along with Berlin International Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival.

He won the Best Director award in the 2009 Cannes for his movie Kinatay.
