After setting records in TV ratings, on Twitter, and finding a niche on Philippine TV, AlDub is set to face its toughest challenge yet.
ABS-CBN is bringing out their big guns as they go head-to-head with the phenomenal love team of Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza on Saturday.
The Kapamilya network’s hottest onscreen tandems are leading “It’s Showtime Kapamilya Day: The ANIMversary Kick-Off” on Saturday. Witness: Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo of Pangako Sa ‘Yo, James Reid and Nadine Lustre of On the Wings of Love, Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, as well as Kim Chiu and Xian Lim are headlining It’s Showtime’s Sep 26 episode.
As though to drive home the point that it’s a major fcking deal, the event will be held at no less than the Araneta Coliseum.
For good measure, several other stars like Julia Montes, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Angelica Panganiban, will be joining in as well.
How Eat Bulaga! has been creaming them in the ratings game, suppose they need to do something!
Besides, the long-standing noontime show has something up its sleeve on Saturday. Eat Bulaga! just declared Sep 26 as National Pabebe Wave Day for the AlDub Nation.
EB’s biggest draw? Two things, actually. First, Yaya Dub is all set to leave the Dubsmash-slash-miming world. And second, Alden is officially allowed to visit Yaya at Lola Nidora’s mansion.
As a teaser, on the Sep 24 “Kalyeserye”, Yaya Dub’s fans had a chance to hear her real voice though quite quickly. She screamed out Alden’s name to the surprise of the audience, including the hosts in the Eat Bulaga! studio. The audience had earlier speculated Yaya Dub would finally be able to talk after being involved in a car crash last Saturday.
