If you’re wondering why Boy Abunda wasn’t on The Buzz yesterday, Aug. 17, it’s because he is still recuperating after he underwent an aspiration of the liver abscess.
In yesterday’s episode, his co-host Toni Gonzaga read a statement from his doctor:
“Restful sleep is restored and basic physical activity has resumed. In the upcoming few days, antibiotic treatment will be completed. Meantime, supportive care will continue and periodic monitoring by laboratory exams will be done to ascertain that he is on track towards full recovery.”
The doctor added that Boy is a “patient patient” and that he “interrogates the staff when necessary but compliant.” He said, “Most importantly, he actively participates in his care. This dynamic cooperation with his healthcare providers has contributed to the current state of improvement in the outcome of his medical care.”
Since Boy was absent from The Buzz yesterday, Vice Ganda was there on his behalf. Kris, incidentally, was also absent because she is on vacation. Boy also started skipping his live show Aquino and Abunda Tonight ever since Aug. 9, when he was rushed to the hospital.
